5W5T – Week 3: Weird & Wonderful

Weird & Wonderful

We’ve reached the mid-way point in 5 Weeks – 5 Themes, and the next theme in line is one that makes a return from last year – Weird & Wonderful. It’s all about the fun and quirky this week, starting tomorrow.

There’s a bookish daughter of a dodgy car dealer in a film that also stars one of the nuns from Call the Midwife (excellent show, by the way) who I didn’t recognise until I saw the her real name.

There’s the return of Rupert Everett in drag, this time with the tenth Doctor in tow. Oh, and a bunch of anarchic schoolgirls, of course, and a treasure. What could possibly go wrong?

And then there’s a French film completely mislabelled as “steampunk” when the term “quirky revenge comedy” is definitely more descriptive.

Let’s get this show on the road!

Traxy Thornfield

A Swedish introvert residing in Robin Hood Country (Nottingham, UK) with a husband and two cats. She's an eager participant in tabletop and play-by-post roleplaying, woodworking, photography and European travel, when there's not a plague on. Might get a novel out one of these days, if she doesn't get too distracted along the way.
