Xmas Giveaway, Day 2: Item 4

Item 4 in the Christmas Giveaway is another book: Wuthering Hearts by Kay Woodward, which I gave a 4.5 out of 5 in July 2011, when it was released. It’s sort of a modern take on Wuthering Heights for young adults (girls ~11-15 or so), and yup, this is my review copy. 🙂

See what you make of it! I’d love it if you post a review of it somewhere to help Kay spread the word. 🙂

Passion, the Yorkshire moors, a wild and handsome stranger … sound familiar?

When Robert arrives in town with his dark good looks and mysterious background, Emily has a huge crush! It’s almost enough to take her mind off this year’s school play … miserable, wailing Wuthering Heights.

But Robert is no prince, with his black moods and stormy temper. The beautiful untamed moors would be the perfect backdrop to their fiery romance, if only Emily could work it out.

On stage or off stage, will emily ever be the Cathy to his Heathcliff?

Giveaway closes at some point during 27 December 2011. Winner will be chosen at random and contacted and with a bit of luck, has responded with some form of contact details so I can send it when the post office opens again on the 28th.

Remember, I need to be able to contact you and get your postal address if you win, so if you’re not on Facebook, Etsy, Twitter or any other way of getting in touch, it will be hard to let you know you’ve won, and so on, so in order to be in with a chance of winning, add some kind of contact details and answer the following qualifying question: What piece of advice would you like to give Cathy and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights?

This giveaway is open worldwide.

Good luck! Santa’s bag re-opens again tomorrow. 🙂

  1. Sounds fun! Advice? “Less drama, please!” I don’t know exactly how they’d manage it, but there you go. Oh, and Heathcliff: smile occasionally. Might do you good.

  2. Good ones! I’d probably go with “Here’s the number to a good therapist. Y’all could do with some anger management counselling.”

  3. My advice would be just to go and run away together, instead of ruining other people’s lives like that, and their own too, in the end. But then again, if they had eloped, what kind of a book would that be? Not my favourite, that’s for sure!

  4. It would make for an interesting spin-off or sequel, though. Wuthering Heights as it would be if they HAD eloped. How would that have turned out? 🙂
