Song! Video! Unlucky Guy of Gisborne!

ZHE FIRST OF MANY!! (Possibly. Maybe. Hopefully?) If I can find inspiration, instrumental songs and time, that is. 🙂 This one’s about Guy of Gisborne from BBC’s Robin Hood – Richard Armitage – and how he’s unlucky in love. Based on “Lucky Guy” by Modern Talking. Or, actually, this is the instrumental to the “Ryan Simmons” version, but let’s not split hairs.

In retrospect, should’ve stuck with what I did originally, and have it as “you are no lucky guy”, because “you are unlucky, Guy” sounds a heck of a lot like “you are a lucky guy”. Ho hum, never mind. And for the next attempt at something like this, I’ll prepare more beforehand … and hopefully come up with better lyrics. 😉 Not used to making fanvids, so it’s as it is. Hope you enjoy it, anyway. Happy weekend everyone!

For those wishing to sing along (or simply want to make out the words!!):

You felt her false kiss
You heard her promise
She said she’d love you
Over and over again
Always lied
You thought her heart true
But she betrayed you
With that Hood outlaw
Over and over again
Now she’s gone

Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy
Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy

Oh Gisborne, your fate is to suffer
Your karma will come back to bite
Oh Gisborne, now your heart is aching
And your soul’s full of spite

Then came your nem’sis
Prince John’s new sheriff
Your little sister
She didn’t like you, it’s true
Never did
You found your soulmate
Meg took away hate
Her death was cruel fate
Now you’re alone yet again
There’s no end

Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy
Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy

Oh Gisborne, your end is made clear now
Your sister would do that to you
oh Gisborne, though your life is waning
We’ll keep on loving you

Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy
Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy
Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy
Ohh, ooh, oooh
You are unlucky, Guy

  1. Holy! What a great voice you have!! I love your reading voice so why not your singing voice, eh?
Very inventive! It’s about time Traxy made a video, but what a fine first effort!
By the way, it does sound like “you’re a lucky guy”, but that also seems like it’s meant to be ironic. So it works! 🙂

  2. Wow, don’t only do you make a vid but you also sing the song! *thumbs up*

    Like this part
‘oh Gisborne, though your life is waning
    We’ll keep on loving you’

Thanks for sharing, hope you make more.

    OML 🙂

  3. phylly3: Thank you so much! 🙂 True, didn’t think of the irony perspective. Thanks for pointing it out!

OML: Thanks! 🙂 Can’t promise that they’ll all be about Guy, or even RA at all, but some of them definitely will be. It will depend on inspiration.

For making videos, I think I’m coming down to not being very taken with it. Takes too long to do, and the only program I really have to use is Windows Movie Maker. Have Cyberlink PowerDirector (or PowerProducer? Can never remember which is which) on my desktop, but I tried updating it once and it conked out on me, as did Adobe Premiere. I should look into the Cyberlink one (came bundled with desktop) to see if it has an install disc so I can reinstall it, or maybe even install it on this. It gives slightly better functionality than WMM (don’t even get me started on W Live MM!!) while not being overly complicated. Did like the multi-track thing of Premiere, though, I have to say. Oh well.

It also comes down to what I have available as clips. I have most of the stuff available with RA on DVD, but to convert it to video files takes absolutely forever and judging from previous experience, might not even work like it was supposed to! Which sucks when you’ve spent the past two hours waiting for something to finish converting … :/ With RH, I have all three series as video files, but only 2-3 were in a format WMM agreed with.

  4. I love your song the way it is, and you have a great voice. We see a lot of fanvids but this is the first I’ve seen with original sung lyrics. Great job!
